Summary

The supraclavicular approach may be chosen for treatment of thoracic outlet syndrome based on its unique advantages. However, it may also be preferred over a transaxillary exposure to facilitate cervical rib resection or based on surgeon preference for resection of the first rib and scalenectomy.
